I discovered a neat trick to create a 3d toposurface very quickly in Revit architecture by using the help of SketchUp Pro. You can make the surface of anywhere in the world that you can search on google earth, without the need for a survey.
Such a time saver [especially at university]! 300% better than spending hours tracing contours off a jpg or 2d dwg!
I can’t speak for the accuracy of the height data, but IMO it seems quite good.
Great for large scale projects or masterplanning.
For more REVIT 2011 videos I recommend checking out the series of DVD or download tutorials that the guys at infinite skills have put together. I have watched them, and am myself very impressed with the quality and professionalism of their work.
